The Guardian Legend features umlauts to indicate lower case letters, which would often become confused with upper case letters when writing passwords and are likely designed to help players more accurately record passwords. The handwriting is clear, with an interesting letter "I" shaded in as well as differences in pen colors. I have not tested these passwords to explore the game states that they preserved.
