Summary - A dresser at a thrift store inscribed with several cheat codes for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. While most of the objects in the museum are written on paper or cardboard, this object is an interesting break in that trend pointing towards other surfaces on which players might preserve their game play. There are numerous questions around this object as well such as when the cheats were added (before or after donation?), what prompted the player to write them on a prominent household object such as a dresser rather than some other (easily stored) material, and do the other inscriptions have any relationship with the cheat codes? As with the other objects in the museum, these codes are written alongside several other notes, pointing towards the multi-purpose uses of materials on which codes, maps, and guides are written.

Something about a discarded and damaged dresser that no one wants rotting away outside of a thrift store in the harsh Florida elements feels poetic, an apt grave for this franchise. Trans rights forever.
